Art Studios and Potteries
Stein has a craft and art gallery, Dandelion Designs and along the beach, is Three Camus Lusta, a contemporary art gallery. There are two studio potteries nearby: Halistra and Edinbane. In Portree, Aros is a centre for film and performing arts, art exhibitions, eagle-cams and a café.Sheepskins and Wool
We have a nearby sheepskin tannery, Skyeskyns and a hand-dyed yarn and knitware studio, Shilasdair.
Wildlife & Outdoor Activities
There are many beach, cliff, forest and hill walks around Tern House. One guest counted 60 bird species around or near the house in 4 days (including both Golden and White Tailed Eagles) and also saw two species of whale, seals, dolphins and basking sharks.
Organised activities on the island include diving, canoeing, cycle hire and horse riding.
Gardens
For garden lovers, the gardens at Attadale on the mainland are worth a detour, and whist there, call in at the Carron Restaurant and its adjacent pottery.
